Run to School & help to Build a School
10K RACE INFORMATION

WHAT:
10km running race

WHEN:
Sunday 11th October 2009, starting at 10.00am

WHERE:
Riverside Recreation Ground, Dukes Meadows, Chiswick West London
(near Barnes Bridge & Chiswick rail stations)

ROUTE & TERRAIN:
A beautiful, winding, single-lap route alongside the River Thames. You can see the route map here.

From Dukes Meadows, the route moves west along the Thames Path to Chiswick Bridge. It continues over the bridge to the south side of the river and then east along the Thames Path to Hammersmith bridge, where it crosses back to the north side and to the finish in Dukes Meadows.

The terrain is a mixture of grass, dirt track, and paved walkways. There aren't any hills, but there will be some steps - mainly when ascending and descending the bridges. The path is quite narrow in places.

There will be water stations on the route and distance markers every kilometre. Toilets & bag storage will be provided at the start/finish. Download our runners guide below for more detailed information.

WHY?
The event is being held to raise money for the charity PEAS. You can find more about the charity on our info page.

Many students in Uganda walk long distances everyday to get to school. They're the lucky ones. Most have no access to secondary education.

When you 'Run to School' you help Build a School - and hundreds more young people get the education they long for. Please come and join us!

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES MIDNIGHT ON THURSDAY

For any team raising over £2000, or any individual raising over £500, their name will be featured on a plaque to commemorate the opening of the new school.
Should you visit Uganda, you can visit the school you helped to build!
