Run to School & help to Build a School

Come and join in the fun ..... and run!

WHAT:
5km fun run - in school uniform fancy dress!

WHEN:
Sunday 11th October 2009, starting at 10.30am

WHERE:
Riverside Recreation Ground, Dukes Meadows, Chiswick, West London.
(near Barnes Bridge & Chiswick rail stations)

ROUTE & TERRAIN:
A beautiful, winding route alongside the River Thames. You can see the route map here.

From Dukes Meadows, the route moves west along the Thames Path to Chiswick Bridge. It continues over the bridge to the south side of the river and then east along the Thames Path to Barnes bridge, where it crosses back to the north side and to the finish in Dukes Meadows.

The terrain is a mixture of grass, dirt track, and paved walkways. There aren't any hills, but there will be some steps - mainly when ascending and descending the bridges. The path is quite narrow in places.

WHY?
The event is being held to raise money for the charity PEAS. You can find more about the charity on our info page.

HOW TO TAKE PART
Register online here. Online registration closes at midnight on Thursday 8th October. It costs £10 per person to enter in advance.

On-the-Day entries will also be accepted until 10.00am at a cost of £20.00

We hope runners will raise additional sponsorship to support the charity.

For example, if you manage to raise £133, this is the equivalent of creating a new, permanent school place in a new school in Uganda.
(that's not the fees for 1 student for 1 year, but a new place in secondary school for generations of young people!)

Prizes for the best fancy dress, highest fundraiser, and top male & female runners!
